ISHTAR 16" x 24" Screenprint

Ishtar was the most popular goddess of Assyria and Babylonia. Calling herself "goddess of the morn and goddess of the evening", she was the devine personification of the planet Venus. Although the goddess of love and voluptuousness, she was irritable, violent, and incapable of tolerating the least obstacle to her wishes.
